1-Day Raku Immersion
No experience is necessary and all abilities are welcome.
Experience the unpredictability and fun of Raku firing. Students will learn various techniques of finishing pots using 5 'bisque fired' vessels provided. Using the techniques covered in the class, you will fire your pieces throughout the course of the day. (Additional vessels will be available at extra cost.) Due to the intense but 'quick' method of Raku, students will be able to take their fired pottery home at the end of the day! This is a full and rewarding day long workshop. Materials included.

Mythical Garden Spirit Mask Workshop
Join Elsa at Night & Day Studio for some fun with clay. This is a great introduction into figurative sculpture. Use various pottery techniques to create a mythical spirit mask. Hang your garden spirit outdoors to protect your garden...or place it anywhere just to make you smile! These terracotta masks can be serious or whimsical, it's up to you. Your mask can be any size up to 12" by 12". Made using frostproof terracotta these spirits can be left outdoors year round if you wish. Sign up with a friend and enjoy the fun together. Materials included.

Whimsical Bird Houses and Feeders
A fun project for beginners, or for something different.
Choose one project type for this fun 3-hour workshop. Sculpt your own whimsical terracotta bird house or feeder created specifically with small songbirds in mind! Elsa will have examples for you to choose from, but feel free to bring your own ideas to the workshop! Sign up with a friend, enjoy the atmosphere at Night & Day Studio, and the pleasure of working with clay. Materials included.

Technical Pointers and Open Studio
This time is for those students who have some pottery experience but would like an open workshop to practise specific skills. Elsa will be on hand to provide technical support and instruction. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills or just to take a few hours to play. A supportive interactive environment shared with other potters. Participants will submit a list of skills and techniques they wish to have covered prior to the workshop, allowing Elsa to structure the time to suit everyone's individual needs. Pot luck lunch to follow the workshop. (Clay not included.)
