Night & Day Studio Sampler

Autumn Leaves Studio Tour runs Oct 3-5

An amazing range of art on offer...

Join us for the 15th Autumn Leaves Studio Tour. Our guest artists, Christine McGrath of Bibelot Design, James Scultety and Heather Buchanan of Sharper Edge Glass, and jeweller Jennifer Nicholson of Just Perfect Designs will all be on hand to showcase their newest designs. Paul and Elsa have also been busy creating a fabulous array of pottery especially for the tour. Elsa's been working on some wild sculptural pieces and Paul is hoping to get yet another firing of salt glazed pots out of the kiln prior to the tour!

The fun and inviting atmosphere at Night & Day Studio is reason enough to make it number one on your tour itinerary. For a quick overview of their work, click Studio Tour 2008. For a look at the entire tour and a downloadable map visit the tour's website.

Empty Bowls Project is well under way!

An army of potters gathered in August and created an amazing number of soup bowls for the first ever Elora Empty Bowls Project. Over 600 bowls were thrown in 4 days. Since then Night & Day Studio has been busy finishing and glazing these bowls. Various potters have also taken portions of the bowls to their respective studios to finish in their own signature glazes. Finished bowls went on sale just over one week ago and thus far the project has raised close to $2000 for the Centre Wellington Food Bank! We have kept a few bowls here at the studio so that studio tour visitors will have an opportunity to buy one and support the project. $25 buys you a bowl, packaged in a lovely little reusable tote bag including a voucher for a "scoop of soup" at participating restaurants. Our own favourite, the Queen's Bush Bistro here in Mount Forest is one!

October is Sensational in Elora!

Empty Bowls is just one part of a great new festival happening October 2nd to 13th in Elora. I really encourage you to check out the wide range of events and activities slated to start next week! Go to "Sensational Elora - a festival of the senses"

Our Elora gallery, Styll, is also taking part in the festival and will be hosting an exhibition entitled "11 pieces in 11 days". This show will feature 11 works by Metallic Evolution, Bibelot Design, Night and Day Studio and Sharper Edge Glass. The exhibition explores "the senses" via various mediums; clay, glass, metal, and mixed mediums. All are invited to see the show throughout the duration of the festival, and invited to join us for a reception on October 9th, from 6 - 8pm. Refreshments will be paired with a selection of wines courtesy of Jackson Triggs and Inniskillin Wineries of Niagara. How can you say no to that!

Night & Day Studio to participate in Artworks in Kitchener Waterloo this fall!

Artworks is a relatively new fine art and fine craft show produced by The Record newspaper and held at Bingeman Park in Kitchener November 1st and 2nd. This show and sale is quickly becoming known as the place to go for quality Canadian craft, and a great place to go for Christmas gift buying. Visit their website to learn more about it. You may recognize the pottery used in thier promotional materials!!! Go to Artworks

Here are a few more events we will be participating in this fall:
